& it came like a hope for many in the category of LGBTs as Supreme Court agrees to reconsider its decision criminalizing consensual sexual relations between same-sex adults and the need to decriminalize Section 377 of Indian Penal Code.
So many Twitteratis welcomed this move and tweeted in favor of abolishing the section 377 of Indian Penal Code. I personally believe that homosexuality is not something which comes with willingness – it’s something which is as natural as bisexuality. Everyone has rights to choose their partners. It is quite absurd that – we are following something from the British era (1861) – which criminalizes sexual activities “against the order of nature”, arguably including homosexual activities. I don’t understand how homosexuality is against the order of nature.
Some religious people openly oppose the homosexuality saying it is against the Vedas and Puranas but there are some others who openly support homosexuality – (Check this answer by renowned Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar). But anyway, it is someone’s personal choice.
Some of the interesting tweets – I found out on Twitter Today –
Generally in any crime there is an oppressor and a victim. 2 people having consensual sex. I dont understand who is victim here? On what grounds is homosexuality a crime?#Section377 #LGBT https://t.co/mLnqnvm1CG

Welcome decision.Section 377 must not apply to Consensual sexual acts. State has NO right to dictate terms on consensual sex among individuals. It's a private choice & should be Respected

While it came as a bizarre statement from Mr. Subramanian Swamy –
As long as they don't celebrate it, don't flaunt it, don't create gay bars to select partners it's not a problem. In their privacy what they do, nobody can invade but if you flaunt it, it has to be punished & therefore there has to be #Section377 of the IPC: Subramanian Swamy pic.twitter.com/hgWtw54U3P

Let’s wish for the best – i.e. abolishment of section 377 and decriminalizing consensual sex between same sex adults. #WeStandAgainstSection277
